Following the recent Facebook group and actions of the National Union of Students, a protest was organised outside the Durham Union Society chambers today, for members of the university who feel the NUS was attempting to block their freedom of speech rights. The protest was followed by a Q&A session with Wes Streeting, NUS President, where he explained his position and that of his union and took questions from the assembled disgruntled students.

The debate was extremely interesting to watch through, although some become very passionate and lost their manners, but food for thought was provided for both sides. You can see my photos here, all of which are downloadable in full resolution copies.
