The Pet Shop Boys – simply saying the name can conjure up images of camp 80s pop music but if your knowledge stops here, you are surely missing out. The duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have barely stopped work since the release of their first album over twenty years ago. Love etc. will be the first single from Yes, their first album in three years. Quoted as saying “sounds like nothing we’ve done before”, this isn’t an over statement. The song takes a look at the modern life style of ‘want’ and is backing with an electronic beat and a catchy melody that is typical of all their work. On first listen, it’s modern sounding but has the edge that only the founding brothers of synth pop know how. Be sure to keep an eye out for album, released on 16th March.
